Creating a color palette for a destination wedding can be a lot of fun. In this case, we were faced with creating a unique color palette that was true to the beautiful island of Amorgos but also not too traditional Greek of primarily blue and white. We really wanted to incorporate flowers that are native to Amorgos. Our nearest airport to receive flowers was Athens – 9 hours by ferry boat away which isn’t exactly ideal for keeping flowers and greenery alive.
I never thought sunflowers were going to be a big part of our centerpiece but they are in abundance on the island during the summer season. The beautiful fuchsia color inspiration came from the wild growing bougainvillea flowers found all around the villages. There was so much greenery to gather on the island, it was such a gift to just go out and snip what was needed from the olive tree in the yard. In the end our three table looks we’re a lovely mix of traditional Greek with a western influence. also showing a unique take on the flowers and color palettes and tied really nicely with the fashion looks we selected that shows a variety of styles for any bride looking to travel to this far away place for a dreamy Greek destination wedding.
I’m eternally grateful for the talented team who helped put this project together.
