Planner Files – New Photos for Kasey & Tracie

by

From Kasey:
We are usually hiding from all of the cameras at our events, so it was a fun morning when Nicole Dixon came by our Short North studio for a little portrait session!  I had been wanting to do a session outside the studio ever since we moved in three years ago.  I’m in love with all of our color filled walls in the ‘hood.  A big thank you to Tim at Mukha Spa at 908 N High St, also in the Short North!  He did an amazing job making us look extra beautiful!

From Tracie:
One of the Scariest Days of 2014

No, it’s not Halloween that terrifies me – it’s having my picture taken! I am a behind-the-scenes kind of girl who will dart out of a candid photo if possible. However, updated professional photos were WAY overdue, so no more procrastinating!

I knew right away that I wanted Nicole Dixon to handle the photography – she is super talented and she could make us look GORGEOUS even if we were having a bad hair day. Luckily, she agreed! So, on a beautiful day in early fall, Kasey and I paraded around the Bliss Studio neighborhood while Nicole guided us through the shoot.

Kasey and I couldn’t be more excited about the finished photos! We owe our fresh faces to the brilliant Tim Maurer of Mukha Spa in the Short North. Those cheekbones you see? Totally Tim – just amazing!

Kasey will be updating the Bliss website soon with these amazing photos – we hope you like them!

by

cfac-monica-2012

That’s right!  One of our favorite events of the year is a little over a month away!  Cakes For A Cause 2014 is back and celebrating its 5th Anniversary!   If you haven’t had the opportunity to join us for this amazing event before here’s what you need to know:

Who: Anyone with a sweet tooth who wants to help a GREAT cause!

What: An evening of fun benefiting the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and Operation Feed including live and silent cake auctions and raffles – there will be something to satisfy every sweet tooth and we are thinking WAY outside the cake pan!

Where: The Mid-Ohio Foodbank’s gorgeous facility at 3960 Brookham Drive, Grove City, Ohio, 43123

When: April 17, 2014 from 6 to 9 pm

Why:  Because there are too many hungry people in the Central Ohio area and this is a fun and simple way to help!

How:  Tickets are on sale now: http://cakesforacause2014.eventbrite.com.  If you’re hoping to attend this year, be sure to get your tickets soon.  We were sold out last year and are anticipating the same for 2014!

Connect:  Come on over to Facebook and LIKE our page.  We post fun photos and important event updates here as we get closer to the event!  We’re also on Instagram this year @cakesforacausecmh

I can’t leave this post with our saying how proud we are of our history…here’s a quick look at how many Central Ohio Families we’ve been able to feed the past four years.  It’s really amazing what one night of cake, cocktails and tasty food can do for hungry families in Central Ohio!

In 2010, Cakes for a Cause easily exceed our original goal of raising 4380 meals or $2190! We more than doubled it and raised 9600 meals in one night and were awarded 2010’s Outstanding New Campaign from Operation Feed!

In 2011, we raised $8753 – 17,500 meals or enough to feed 16 people every meal for an entire year. Once again, with your help we blew our goal of 10,000 meals out of the water!

In 2012, we raised enough to feed 24 people every meal for an entire year – that’s over 26,000 meals!

In 2013, we raised over 27,000 meals for those in need in Central Ohio!

With your help, we can feed even more people in need through Cakes for a Cause 2014 – how many people will we help this year?

New Venue: High Line Car House

by

We had the pleasure of attending an open house last weekend at the High Line Car House located on the south side of downtown in the Brewery District.  The High Line Car House is the newest venue owned by our friends at Two Caterers.  This is a great urban space for events looking for something that has open spaces with an old urban feel.

I can’t begin to express how much we love the team over at Two Caterers…they do great food, won’t break the bank and they don’t mind we when we bring truckloads of rentals and decor with us to create the most amazing spaces for our clients!  Sadly, that last part about the truckloads of decor and rentals is getting hard to come by in these parts lately as venues try to internalize much of it and usually to the detriment of the client’s event…that’s a whole other post but I digress…back to the High Line!

The space seats around 200 guests.  The rental rate/food & beverage minimum is very affordable at $10,000 that includes a $2000 bar minimum for a Saturday night and $5000 with a $1000 bar minimum for a Friday night.  We also love that the Fruitwood Chiavari chairs you see in the photo below are included with the rental!  Yay for no yucky ballroom or office furniture looking chairs!

We’re looking forward to designing and planning some pretty weddings and events in this new space!  Be sure to ask for Carly or Angela R if you contact them {and tell them we sent you}!
